Poor people relax me is a performative documentation of the process of spending funds and looking for ways to adress otherness while working in an exotic country. The film follows German artist Clara Winter as she attempts to make a site specific project in Mexico without falling into the cliches of poverty-porn and neocolonial views on developing countries and foreign cultures. Throughout the film, she is confronted with her own privilege, superficiality and the banality of her own project.
